EXCLUSIVE: ‘I WANT TO MARRY OPRAH OR THE QUEEN’ – SEUN KUTI

Words:Adedosu 'kenzy' Adekunle

Barely Two Months after his brother, "FEMI KUTI" of the Positive Force band claimed he does not believe in marriage in an exclusive interview with the men of the press, the youngest son of the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Seun Kuti in an exclusive interview with our journalist also agrees with the beliefs of his older brother saying ‘I’m not a cynic, I’m a realist.

As Uncle Femi Falana put it to me, people expect the African to love, to romance and forget reasoning, but it is highly impossible for the Yoruba man to abandon his reasoning for love. However, there is going to be romance, but he will never forget reasoning’.

When we asked if he will ever get married if the right girl comes around, he went on to say: ‘No problem as long as she’s got big money, millions of dollars. I want to marry Oprah or The Queen of England, ladies with big bucks and then I can divorce her in two years with half of her money coming to me… I want a woman who will buy me stuffs like Ferrari, Condo and the great things that would make all the nagging and stress of the marriage worth enduring.’

Seun Kuti, has been playing in his father‘s Egypt 80 band since his pre-teen years before taking over the band after his father died on Saturday, August 2, 1997. His second album, ‘From Africa With Fury: Rise’ produced by Brian Eno is set to be released on Tuesday June 21, 2011 by St. Jude Music and Egypt 80 Records with his record label, Knitting Factory Records in New York City holding the copyright.

Seun Kuti on Marriage

Krest: Do you mean you do not wish to give in your marriage?

Seun: Sure I want to give, but not just eternally. Being married to a woman without money means giving forever. No, I don’t want to give forever; she should be giving generously big too. (Laughs)

Krest: So what happens if you marry someone like Oprah and she goes broke before two years?

Seun: I would have divorced her before she goes broke. I would know the money is finishing, that is how smart I am.

HYPERTEK ENTERTAINMENT SETTLE OUT OF COURT WITH HAPPY BOYS ENTERTAINMENT

Words:Adedosu 'kenzy' Adekunle

Yes, you will definitely remember when we did a story on the said two company's some couple of months back. We can authoritatively tell you that the said two entertainment outfit has put an end to their 2 years rift. Mr Innocent idibia(2face) C.E.O Hypertek Entertainment was expected to appear before Justice Nyoku of Court 5 at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 over an alleged breach of contract. Sued by Happy Boys Entertainment Limited who alleged 2face promised to include a purported duet with A-list US R&B act, R. Kelly in the initial edition of his third solo studio album ‘The Unstoppable’.

Bisi Bamgbala of Happy Boys Entertainment allegedly gave 2Face the sum of N25M for his incorporated expenses, gain and a duet with R. Kelly, but the artiste, Bamgbala says, failed to fulfill his end of the bargain. The allegations also include the release of the International edition of ‘The Unstoppable’ by Hypertek Entertainment, which the artiste repackaged with inclusion of new songs ‘without the consent of the Happy Boys marketers’.

Despite the much anticipated hearing and media buzz, no one from either side showed up at the court as Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET) was present. Speaking with one Mr. Murtala Alabi of Happy Boys Entertainment at exactly 11:17AM, he claimed, ‘Well, the court hearing has been postponed to October by the judge, because she couldn’t make it.’ But our reporter saw the judge at the court during a hearing that same morning just few minutes before he made the call told Mr. Murtala Alabi about it. He added almost immediately, ‘Maybe she came in later, but the case has been postponed to October’.

Who is covering who goes the question? Is it possible the man who seeks to prosecute another is at the same time willing to shield the accused? An adjourned case without a hearing sounds like one worthy of probe? Perhaps an agreement has been reached to settle out of court

Facts compiled by journalists.

Happy Boys Entertainment Limited marketed/distributed the initial version of, ‘The Unstoppable’, for Hypertek Entertainment Ltd.

Happy Boys Entertainment Limited does promotion/distribution/marketing with an Alaba outlet.

The Unstoppable (International Edition) marks 2Face Innocent Idibia’s fourth studio album.

The international edition was launched at Tribeca on Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island on Friday, May 21, 2010 with the after party at The Place on Isaac John Street, Ikeja GRA in Lagos.

Words:Adedosu 'kenzy' Adekunle

Nobody could believe when social networks are buzzing with headlines like "Gifted singer Omawumi has put to bed" .

The Idols star delivered a baby girl in a US hospital a week back.

The 28-year-old singer constantly tried to stay away from the press; but different sources and our reporters had spotted her with a bulging belly several times in recent months. Last month, she finally escaped from the prying eyes of the media; traveling out of the country to the US to deliver her first baby.

Sources close to her tell journalists that she was put to bed early Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 2AM.

‘A child is God’s reward – Psalm127:3B…Welcome sweetie!‘, were the joyful words Omawumi uttered via her Blackberry Messenger.

The identity of the father still remains unknown but those who should know have linked the child’s paternity with a yet-to-be-named part owner of Lagos club Zamunda.
