ALAPOMEJI CROONER "9ICE" RELOCATES.

Words:Adedosu 'kenzy' Adekunle

Sensational singer and C.E.O. of Alapomeji record label "Abolore Adigun Akande" a.k.a "9ice" has moved out of his Abuleegba-Lagos home, according to different sources close to the singer-songwriter,we’re told that the award-winning talent, who recently released his long-awaited albums; Bashorun Gaa and Versus, has now moved into a rented property in Ogba, in Lagos.

Leaving his hangers-on behind, and severring ties with all Alapomeji artistes and affiliates, with whom he enjoyed a communal living style while in Abule-egba, those close to the singer say he’s restructuring his life, and working hard to get to the A list.

9ice, a truly gifted talent and game-changer,continues to get respect and love from fans and critics.

But the wild days of Gongo Aso are since over. His ratings have dropped drastically, no endorsements have come his way and promoters no longer find him indispensable.

With the likes of Wizkid, Davido, D’Banj, currently the bride of promoters, 9ice’s earnings have dipped. His new albums, just like the one before them, are near-excellent by all standards, yet fans and critics are acting like they didn’t get the memo…

"He understands that all the drama, the controversies over his failed marriage, his romance with Vicky Goddies, fight with Ruggedman; all that have had effects on his image and career. And he’s working hard to make sure his music speaks up for him", an industry leader told us over the phone.

Part of ‘making his music speak for him’, could be upcoming the 9ice Concert which we’re told has been slated for Sunday January 29, at the Expo Centre of Eko Hotel & Suites.

If the event goes on as planned, 9ice will go the way of 2face Idibia, Psquare, Mo’Hits All Stars and few others who have staged their own solo 5,000 capacity concert at the highbrow venue. We will have to wait though, to see if, like 2face, the show’s success will help to rescue an ailing career.
