STAR MUSIK TREK UNVIELS STAR ARTISTE FOR THIS YEAR CONCERTS.

Organizers of Star Music Trek, the popular annual music tour have unveiled the 22 Nigerian acts that will be performing on this year’s tour!

The artistes were unveiled on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at an announcement ceremony held at Rhapsodys Lounge, Victoria Island and attended by the top industry buffs, artistes, OAPs, PR execs and others.

This year’s performers include some of the bestselling, award-winning acts, the likes of heavyweights 2face Idibia, D’banj and Psquare.

Other include Ice Prince (who’s year so far has been fantastic) and fellow Chocolate City label mate M.I. Other rappers include Mr Raw, Naeto C, Phyno and Olamide.

The star-studded lineup also includes Timaya, Sound Sultan, Wande Coal, Obesere, Dr Sid, J Martins, KCee, Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shey, Yinka Best, Kas and Star Quest past winners Juke Box, Da Beatz and Crystalz.

The 10 week concert will hold in 10 venues including Lagos, Aba, Enugu, Abeokuta, Lokoja, Nnewi, Asaba.

‘We’ve been doing this for over a decade’, Marketing Director, Nigerian Breweries Walter Drenth says.

‘Every year gives us another opportunity to reach out to music fans all over the country by bringing the very best of Nigerian music right to their cities’, he adds.

Star Trek was introduced in 2002 as an annual nation-wide musical concert tour that parades the best of Nigerian artistes across 10 cities pan Nigeria.

Things are really getting in shap with the past and present winners of Project Fame, as they will be repre4senting the number oneJust a year after signing on pop star, Davido, telecoms giant, MTN has signed on three past Project Fame winners and one finalist as ambassadors of its brand.

The recently signed PFWA alumni include, reigning pop sensation, Iyanya, soul singer, Praiz, R&B vocalists Chidinma and Mike Anyasodo (iMike) who were at one time or the other part of the MTN sponsored music reality show, Project Fame.

Iyanya expressed his excitement on twitter as he tweeted, ‘Done deal #endorsement #thankyouLord’.
NET tried to reach Chidinma’s management, Goretti Company for confirmation and a rep who responded said that they would get back to us on it.

Praiz could not be reached at press time, but a source close to the singer confirms the new development.
Sources close to Omo Baba Olowo say Davido’s contract with the telecoms company was also renewed as he will continue in his capacity as ambassador to the brand.

We could not immediately confirm figures, and durations of the contracts. But insiders say the move is a major change in policy for the company which had for years, avoided overt brand endorsements. Some believe it is possible the move is to prevent rival companies – especially Etisalat – from snatching these acts (except Davido) who are products of the MTN sponsored Project Fame Academy in the on-going- portability war.

Nigeria's pop star  DBANJ 'Banga Lee' was one of the major performers at the MTV Africa All Stars gig that went down on Saturday, May 18, 2013 and he not only stunned and thrilled the guests but also the fashionistas when he walked out rocking two different pairs and colours of his Giuseppe Zanotti hightop sneakers.

A pair according to the Giuseppe Zanotti website goes for $700 (roughly N120,000) and is currently out of stock.

Jay Z has denied reports that Beyoncé is expecting her second baby, saying the rumours aren’t true.

Last weekend, Jigga reportedly emailed Ebro Darden, the program director for New York radio station Hot 97, stating that Blue Ivy won’t be having a sibling just yet. ‘It’s not true’ Darden explained on Monday morning (May 20).

Jay’s denial comes days after E! reported that Beyonce is pregnant.

Beyoncé had cancelled a May 14 concert on her Mrs Carter World Tour in Antwerp, Belgium, citing dehydration and exhaustion.

Robert Pattinson was spotted removing his belongings from Kristen Stewart‘s home in California over the weekend.

The couple has been facing hard times since they broke up for two months last summer after the actress’ fling with director Rupert Sanders. Reports say they might be calling it quits.

‘They are basically allowed to date other people and Kristen is super sad over the whole thing. She has absolutely no desire to date anyone and the thought of Rob possibly seeing other people has made her sick to her stomach.
