PROJECT FAME 6.0 WINNER IS "OLAWALE OJO" AS HE BEATS OTHER TO WIN THE STAR PRIZE.

Olawale Ojo has emerged winner of MTN Project Fame Season 6 beating five other finalists with his final performance of Asa’s song ‘Beautiful’.

Olawale was handed a cheque of N5m, a brand new car with a recording contract.  

Immaculate was named first runner-up, winning a cash prize of N3m and a car.

Margaret comes 3rd with N2m and a car, Eniola in the fourth position with N2m. Omolayo was fifth with N1m and in the sixth position was Roland with N500,000.

The show kicked off in June 2013 with a Project Fame tour held in three cities – Abuja, Port Harcourt and Lagos.

Olawale becomes the sixth winner of the popular TV show joining past winners Iyanya, iMyke, Chidinma, Monica and AYO.

SOLIDSTARS N22M ALBUM FAULT BY ALABA MARKETERS.

Solidstar will release his second album ‘Grace and Glory‘ this week.

In a statement to Journalists, the Pop artiste’s label Achievas Music announced they have already sold the distribution rights for the album for N22m. A few sources however say the deal is not achievable.

Achievas Music has been Solidstar’s label since he released his debut album ‘One in a Million‘. The company says the deal with Obaino Music means the popular Alaba marketers will have the sole rights to market and distribute the album throughout the nation.

The startling amount has raised questions, with many asking how possible the deal is, at a time when most marketers no longer give upfront payment.

‘It’s not possible that Solid Star sold his album for that amount. Marketers don’t pay upfront if you’re not an A-lister‘, a trader who has worked with the likes of Okeysonic Entertainment tells journalists.

‘Alaba marketers don’t buy albums anymore except you are Tiwa, Wizkid, or Burna Boy who have high demand for an album‘, Ademola ‘Bishop’ Adeyeni, a media practitioner who has worked with a few marketers as well as managed the likes of Terry tha Rapman, Gino, Sossickk and Morell says.

Recently it was reported that Burna Boy‘s label, Aristokrat Records, received N10m from Alaba marketers, UBA Pacific for his newly released album ‘L.I.F.E‘.

Obaino Music weren’t very helpful when we contacted them. A rep for the Alaba-based company declined speaking with KREST. ‘I cannot say anything online, thank you‘ he told our correspondent.

2009/2010 seems to have marked the end of upfront payments for Nigerian albums. Popular marketer T Joe, who once paid up to N20m for a Psquare album (‘Game Over‘ in 2008) was so successful that he launched his T Joe Records label, releasing 2shotz’ ’Music Business‘ also in the same year.

But when Bigiano‘s N1.5m ‘Shayo Master‘ and Modenine‘s N800k ’Paradigm Shift‘ album deals flunked in 2009, things changed. ‘M.I didn’t get a penny for an upfront for ‘Talk about it’ but sold the most then‘, a marketer close to  T Joe says.‘It would do everyone some good if Solidstar and his label made available the records showing this N22m deal‘.

At ‘The Jesse Jagz Experience’ free music concert which held last month at the New Afrika Shrine, Lagos,  the music maker took time to explain his weed smoking habit and how it doesn’t concern anybody.

‘This one’s for the blogs. You people keep reporting about me smoking marijuana, chastising me for smoking is just another form of racism’, Jesse Jagz blurted out in between performance.

He then went on a rant about how he did not ‘find it anyone’s business’ because he patronised the green leaf calling it ‘grass’ created by God himself.

KREST once reported about Jesse Jagz use of Marijuana but record label Chocolate City denied it.

Well, we guess Jesse’s open statement has proved his former label wrong…

NIGERIAN IDOL SEASON 2 WINNER "MERCY CHINWO" YET TO RECEIVE N7.5 RECORDING CONTRACT AFTER ONE YEAR.

Over a year after winning the Nigeran Idol season 2, winner "Mercy Chinwo"  is yet to be given her N7.5m recording contract. Recently, she opened up. ‘As I speak to you, I’m one-man standing. I am not in any record label, I am alone. I have to say the truth. I am not or was never tied to nay record label‘, the Port Harcourt-born singer told journalists last week. She however confirmed receiving the N7.5m cash prize. 

Franchise owners of Nigerian Idol, Optima Media Group (OMG) had announced that the winner of the talent show would go home with the overall prize of a recording contract, an SUV and a mouth-watering cash of prize of $100,000 (N7.5m). The show was sponsored by Etisalat and Pepsi.

KREST could not establish contact with OMG as a rep for the media company refused to pick our phone calls and reply text messages.

Mercy’s case isn’t the same with season three winner Moses Obi-Adigwe who says everything OMG promised has been delivered. ‘Yes I got the money and my contract, everything is okay‘, Moses confirmed. The singer says he has received his N7.5m cash prize and has released three new singles.

Apparently, Moses’ recording contract is with OMG who recently setup their own label. Moses says he is more relaxed working with OMG than any other label as they would ‘have time’ for him.

AMERICAN RAPPER "KANYE WEST" HAVING IT BIG TIME WITH THE PAPARAZZI.

The paparazzi are on to American Rapper "Kanye West"again.

Just recently, in the early hours of September 27, 2013, a few paps paid a visit to the rapper’s home at 4AM leaving him pretty mad. ‘How would you like it if I came to your house at 4AM in the morning? You are just a bully‘, Kanye screamed in between a series of Shut the f**k ups.

For a brief second, a lady reported to be seen as his model wife, Kim Kardashian makes her way into Kanye’s car as they later drive out. There seemed to be no physical contact between the rapper and photographers.

Kanye is currently facing charges of battery and attempted grand theft in connection with the LAX incident, where a paparazzo claims Kanye injured him.

Popular rap star "Jesse Jagz"  thinks his second album ‘Jagz Nation Vol. 1, Thy Album Come’ is the best album ever released.

Recently the eclectic Nigerian artiste made the proclamation while performing at his ‘The Jesse Jagz Experience’ free music concert at the New Afrika Shrine.

Jesse was performing on stage with rapper Kahli Abdu when the latter uttered to the crowd ‘My man Jesse’s dropped the best album this year’, when Jesse cut in and said ‘No, the best album ever, ever!’.

The album was released under his own ‘Jagz Nation’imprint.

The album has received rave reviews from music critics and fans and might just be the best Nigerian album released this year. But sales figures are nothing to write home about.

KREST scored the album a 4.3/5, the highest rating ever on the website.

Popular Singer and Nolly-wood actress "2face" and "Annie Idibia" have confirmed they are expecting their second child together, just recently, photos of a heavy Annie has surfaced on the social networks.

The pictures were posted by the actress’ friend and manager 'Naomi Adenuga' on Instagram. Annie is seen dressed in a little black dress, holding her baby bump while she stares into her phone. A second photo shows Naomi holding Annie’s bump while striking a pose.

 Africa's music star, Innocent Ujah Idibia, well known as 2Face Idibia and his lovely actress wife, Annie Macaulay dazzled in South Africa, where the couple recently went to.

The lovebirds are surely enjoying their union, which was finally legalised in April 2013 in a white wedding in Dubai. They have a daughter together, who was given birth to some years ago. However, 2Face has five other children from two other women.

POP STAR "9ICE" GOES BACK TO SCHOOL...GAINS ADMMISSION TO STUDY LAW.

One time A-list artiste in Nigeria, Abolore Adigun well known as 9ice, has gained admission into the university to study law. The talented singer, who has been battling with a nose-diving music career, disclosed this to a national daily newspaper, Tribune in an interview.

9ice told the paper that he is presently a student of Capella University, Minnesota, USA, studying Public Safety and Common Law. He however stated that he is running the school's online programme.

According to him, "I am already in school studying Public Safety and Common Law at Capella University. It is an online programme. I can't think of any other course except Law."

The singer reportedly left the Lagos State University (LASU) in 2006, where he was then studying Law. It was at that time he gained fame with hit his hit song, 'Ganja' and later with 'Gongo Aso'.

2Face Idibia is top Nigerian musician who has gained respect for himself in the industry. Ironically, his private life, especially in the love and child bearing aspect, may not have made some to respect him.

He was once being used by comedians to liken those alleged being impregnating ladies at the slighted 'touch'. At a time, some comedian joked whether he sends pregnancy to ladies through bluetooth. Well, that's not a discussion for today.

When he married Annie Macaulay in 2013, many critics said he won't be faithful to his wife. But 2Face may be proven many wrong now.

Apparently now in South Africa, the talented singer tweeted some hours ago that, "Ok o, SA make I go sleep b4 Annie go catch me 4 here. One!"

This got a response from his 'watchful' wife who replied, "caught ya hehehehehe." Who says 2Face is not faithful to Annie? We hope the South African babes listened to the warning sha.

 Davido has taken to his twitter handle to express disappointment in the forbes list of top 10 bankable African celebrities, leaving his name from the list.

He posted on his twitter handle "Forbes Balu" words which looks like a diss to Forbes for leaving him out of a list which has his arch rival Wizkid on it.

A fan replied him saying, "Apparently forbes aren't talking about artistes who inherited their father's wealth"

This obviously got at him and he retweeted, "Why be mad that my pops got money! Sorry ain't my fault! Focus on the music! Damn, shits get annoying."

Well, I have some words of advice for my guy Davido, never worry you will also be recognised when the time is right.

Peter Okoye of Psquare recently had more than what he bargained for when he made an unpardonable plunder on his Twitter Timeline. He was trying to congratulate a colleague, the Limpopo crooner, KCee who has recently joined the league of Nigerian entertainers who are deeply into oil and gas business. Peter, who has claimed to have had a university degree tweeted, "Personally welcome u on bored" instead of saying ‘personally welcome you on board’.

One of his fans who saw the grammatical blunder committed by the song star called him ‘An empty Head’, Peter, as we learnt, quickly looked for ‘Block’ button and totally blocked the contact from causing any further ‘danger’. Wahala Dey o!

Controversial Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem has lashed out at another controversy-happy figure, Cossy Orjiakor for being quoted in some reports to have said that he (Eedris) begged her for s3x.

The blogosphere recently bubbled with reports that the rapper, who fought with 50 Cent when the latter visited Nigeria some years ago, begged to sleep with Cossy after a show. The duo were recently in Bayelsa State for an event and pictures went viral on the internet showing Cossy giving Eedris a lap dance while he was standing.

Not finding the whole thing funny anymore, Eedris took his anger to twitter and debunked Cossy's alleged statement and went further to describe the actress as an 'old b*tch'.
He wrote, "pls tell Cossy, Kazzim that they should look for another way to blacklist me, [I] am married happy and [I] am not attracted to an old b*tch."

Top Nolly-wood actress and producer, "Bukky Wright" is at the moment in sobriety over the loss of over N40m to conmen who approached and talked her to buy a property in Lagos recently.

The Yoruba actress and Chivita brand ambassador we gathered from reliable sources, was still in shock over the huge amount of money she was skillfully swindled of a couple of weeks ago.

According to the source, Bukky was said to have been approached to acquire a house by a close family friend, the said person was so close to Bukky to the extent that every secret is kept with her.

Bukky, out of ignorance, came to Nigeria, inspected the said property, having been well satisfied with it, and wrote a cheque of N40m to the swindlers and since then nothing has been heard about it.

When Bukky tried all avenues to retrieve her hard-earned money back, it was said to have yielded no positive result and just recently, Bukky decided to swallow the bitter pill by bringing a closure to the deal gone sour.

“It was at the beginning of this Ramadan season that Bukky resolved to leave everything in God’s hands,” a source in America told us.

Meanwhile, some of the friends of the actress who got wind of the incident said, Bukky kept mum over the case because she doesn’t want it in the press; the reason is because, she might be queried how she got a whopping N40m to buy a house.

There are also rumours that, one of her ex flames in government might have been one of the sources that coughed out the said money for the house.

However, Bukky Wright is a top actress in Nollywood, she has produced some movies valued at over N100m, so N40m shouldn’t be an issue in this situation after all, and she is also engaged to a rich dude who resides in America.

Benita, a spinster poured out her mind on what true love and marriage should be.

Video director and manager Jude Okoye has signed his first artiste to his newly created Northside Music Inc. label. He announced today (August 22, 2013) rapper Cynthia Morgan as his first act.

Okoye, who is the elder brother of Pop duo Psquare is the President/C.E.O of Square Records and Northside Entertainment Ltd. He has been handling Psquare’s music careers during and after the twins’ first record deal with Timbuk2 Music.

Morgan has a management deal with Jton Productions owned by music promoter/PSquare’s US/Canada booking agent Joy Tongo. Jton recently parted ways with budding singer Retta.

YORUBA NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS "MIMIANO" REVEALS HER 15 YR OLD DAUGHTER.

Before now, not everyone is aware that popular Nollywood Yoruba actress, "Memunat Yunusa" better known as Mimiano has a child, but from our desk, we can authoritatively confirm to you that she has a child for "Robinson Okpara", her estranged Igbo lover of many years who was once working with Izeko Motor Spare Parts Nigeria Limited.

The figure 8 actress, who had a crumbled relationship with the Imo State-born businessman, we were reliably told, had a bouncing baby girl in 2001.

According to the story which came up lately, Mimiano met Robinson some years ago and started dating during her days in Igbologun Secondary School, Snake Island, Lagos. Then, she was helping her mother who was selling food at Moshood Abiola Way, Ijora Lagos where Robinson was one of the major patrons of the canteen. Robinson wooed Mimiano and they hit it off.

Their relationship lasted for over 8 years before a sudden separation came in between the two lovebirds and they fell apart. But during the relationship, she had a baby girl for him who's named Chi-Chi Okpara, immediately after she left Secondary school.

Sources further revealed to us that, after giving birth, Mimiano and the said Igbo man were together for a few years and thereafter, they parted ways because the lovers no longer had confidence in each other.

Then, the poor girl, Mimiano allegedly summoned the courage to be taking care of the baby single handedly together with her mother, Mrs Yunusa of blessed memory. ChiChi was living with Mimiano's mother until when the woman died.

Due to the prolific activities she was engaged in, and her several role invitations in movies, it is alleged that she could no longer pay her motherly attention to her daughter. This has influenced her to take the baby to one of the expensive boarding schools in Lagos while the baby only goes to her or the elder sister of Robinson.
