We know it’s just three months into 2013 but is it safe to call 2face and Annie Idibia‘s well publicized, grand wedding the biggest of the year? Probably yes.

Or who else is going to pull off something bigger than a N130m traditional wedding and then fly an entourage consisting of family, friends (don’t forget a hand full of Governors’ aides) and well wishers to Dubai for a white wedding to hold on a luxury yacht?

Over the weekend, wedding invitations were distributed to over 250 guests in and outside the country. We laid our hands on a copy and we’ll give you the juicy details.

The wedding ceremony and reception is being planned by OAKEN EVENTS LIMITED. Miss Buchi Nduka serves as the ‘Logistics and Hospitality’ coordinator and Obechi Anuge as the ‘Events Prestige’ director.

After stunning us with the three-part gold colored, studded invitation card for their traditional wedding which held two weeks ago (March 8),  superstar couple 2face and Annie Idibia have taken it a notch higher with a specially-designed invite for their upcoming grand white wedding holding in Dubai on March 23, 2013.

The invitation is best described as a package containing a black invite card with white and red lettering, a small access tag (no one will be allowed on the yatch where the wedding is holding without the tag) and a travel guide. Everything is contained in an expensive box with chocolate dressing.

The invitation package was designed by Karman Invitationers, a Lagos-based crafts company that specializes in items like this. A rep for the company tells us that each IV costs about N9000 and that 200 copies were made. That means the couple doled out  about N1.8m for the souvenir.

Sources gathered that the IVs took about two to three months to be prepared and finished. The Idibias are making sure every single detail tied to their grand wedding is of top quality!

RAPPER "EL-AMIN" JAILED FOR ALLEGED SHOOTING.

A two-day trial has been scheduled by a Henrico County judge for an upcoming rapper who, according to a prosecutor, apparently believed that he had to sacrifice his friend to reach stardom, Huffington Post reports.

Wafeeq Sabir El-Amin, 27, allegedly fired a shot towards his friend’s head back in December, stating he was his ‘Sacrifice’ to stardom.

According to the warrant, the bullet when fired hit the victim’s hand sending bone and skin fragments into his eye. But the victim was able to get hold of the gun and shoot El-Amin in the stomach before he ran off.

while the victim is not being charged, Henrico Circuit Judge L.A. Harris Jr. denied bond Thursday for Wafeeq Sabir El-Amin, after El-Amin was described as danger to the public and a man who was so overcome with marijuana.

El-Amin says he could not remember the events of the month in which he committed the alleged crime.

Attorney Thomas L. Johnson said in court Thursday that the trial will delve into the hip-hop music culture and the notion that a secret society called the Illuminati has control over the success of some performers.

Johnson said in court that a book about the role of the Illuminati in hip-hop music and especially in the career of rap star 50 Cent was an obsession for El-Amin.

NAIJA NINJA'S CEO "SPOUND SULTAN" AND "BABA DEE" LAUNCH MULTI-MILLIONAIRE STUDIO.

Two wonderful Nigeria Brothers "Baba Dee" and "Sound Sultan", owners of Naija Ninja music label and Naija Ninja Clothing have recently added more to their chains of franchise.

The siblings whose real names are Dare and Lanre Fasasi, recently acquired a multi-million Naira audio/visuals equipment that includes an updated recording studio, visual editing studio, camera chains, lights and sound equipment for television, film and audio production.

‘This year we are going to be a doing a lot of things. Naija Ninja will be making a great mark in the music industry beginning with the opening of our new studio and a line up of a lot of projects that we have planned’, Sound Sultan told journalists.

Sources, also learnt that there is a television drama series in the works, which is aimed at projecting the new acting and musical talents in the country. The project begins on March 20 with a one week intensive training workshop on acting and script writing.

The brothers have spent nearly two decades in the music industry.

NIGERIA' S BIGGEST STARS "SOUND SULTAN" AND TUFACE INNOCENT IDIBIA" TO LAUNCH THEIR OWN TV SERIES.

Best friends, and two of Nigeria's best pop stars "Innocent 2face Idibia" and "Sound Sultan" are set to hit television with their first jointly produced TV series.

The TV series, a situation comedy titled ‘Who Be Mumu’ is created and produced by the duo. According to Sound Sultan. ‘The series will tell stories of the lives of an average Nigerian youth. Most of it would be shot in Festac town.’

On whether he will be featuring, he said, ‘I would probably make a guest appearance and so will 2face too…there will also be a lot of guest celebrity appearances.’

The respected lyricist also told journalists that recordings of the series has already started and that airing on TV stations would hopefully commence from the third quarter of the year.

U.S RAPPER "LIL WAYNE" RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER MULTIPLE SEIZURE.

America's Top Rapper and multiple award winner "Dwayne Michael Carter Jr." a.k.a Lil wayne has been rushed down to the hospital after suffering from multiple seizure on Tuesday March 12th..

  According to sources at the hospital : "Wayne is still in critical condition in the ICU ... but stabilizing,we're told the prognosis is uncertain.Wayne is sleeping right now ... which is odd, because he just tweeted saying he's OK and thanking people for the prayers and love." Also, Wayne's mother is currently on a plane flying to Los Angeles -- and we're told all major decisions about Wayne's health (including the decision to discontinue life support) will not be made until she arrives.

"Lil Wayne is in ICU in critical condition after suffering yet another seizure, and we're told it doesn't look good" ... we learned.

Online source "TMZ" broke the story, saying the 30-year-old rapper was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. Tuesday night after suffering multiple seizures.  And he was released Wednesday, but just few hours later, one of his bodyguards found him in his room, on the floor and unconscious.

Wayne was rushed to the hospital again, but this time he did not stabilize.  He was taken to ICU, where he was placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably.

Sources confirmed that Wayne is currently "unstable," and has been placed in an induced coma.  He is breathing through tubes.

 

It was confirmed that several people are at Wayne's bedside crying, and a number of rap artists and family members are on the way.  Sources say the scene is violent as Wayne shakes uncontrollably.

Sources say there's evidence Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being released Wednesday, because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system.

We're told Wanye's stomach was pumped 3 times to flush the drugs from his system.

TV STAR "KIM KARDASHIAN" USE HER BLOOD FOR FACIAL TREATMENT TO STAY YOUNG.

Odd you might say,but its real. Popular Tv star "Kim Kardashian" is pretty determined to look forever young and she’s willing to go to any length to make sure her face and body stay the same, or so it seems.

The 32-year-old reality star went to the extreme in the latest episode of ‘Kourtney and Kim Take Miami‘ by undergoing skincare treatment involved drawing blood from her arm.

‘The plasma was then extracted from the blood and was injected back into her face using nine tiny little acupuncture-style needles’, Ace Showbiz reports.

After a few ‘Owww’s and ‘Oh my God’s, she later gained confidence. ‘We’re all good’, the pregnant TV star said as the treatment ended, posting a photo (picture above) on Instagram…

Pop star Shakira and footballer baby daddy Gerard Pique posted a picture of their seven-week-old son dressed in a jersey from his dad’s team Barcelona FC on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

The picture was taken at Barcelona’s home stadium after the team had defeated rivals A.C. Milan 4-0.

‘After the game, Camp Nou empty, enjoying the classification with my family’, Pique wrote on his WhoSay page.

The couple welcomed their first child on January 22, 2013.

Famous WWE manager "Paul Bearer", the ‘scary’ man who for many years helped introduce The Undertaker died on Tuesday, March 5, 2012.

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) released a statement saying: 

‘WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years. Our deepest condolences go out to Moody’s family, friends and fans’.

Bearer who real name is Bill Moody joined the WWE in 1990. He played the role of a funeral director and managed famous wrestlers including The Undertaker, Kane, Rick Rude, Vader and Mankind.

ACE PRODUCER "D-TUNES' PART WAYS WITH ARTISTE "IYANYA".

 Talented music producer and hit-maker "Adesanya Doyinsola" better known as D’Tunes has parted ways with pop singer Iyanya and his record label Made Men Music Group (MMMG) after working with the label for over three years.

D’Tunes is credited for making three of Iyanya’s biggest hits off his second album ‘Iyanya Vs Desire‘ – the smash hit ‘Kukere‘, the follow up banger ‘Ur waist‘ and the third single ‘Flavour‘.

No reasons have been given by both camps but D’Tunes through his reps says he’s moving on to other tasks to accomplish as his work with MMMG is a glaring success.

Already, the NIIT graduate has set up his own production and record label outfit called Difference Entertainment and he’s signed R&B-Pop singer Sean Tizzle. Sean was up till recently a member of Sound Sultan’s music ensemble Naija Ninja.

You might want to agree with me that this guys are just getting bigger and bigger each day, they are a perfect examples of a typical Igbo man, they never really misses the opportunity when it comes to business and money.

This twin pop stars have just about doing everything that is to be done in the Nigerian (and even African) music world – releasing five record selling albums, collaborating with top international stars, staging power packed concerts across Africa and in the UK, shooting ground breaking videos, getting jaw dropping endorsement deals, you name it.

Success is at Psquare’s beck and call; And after succeeding very well in music and entertainment in general, the twins now have their eyes set on the Oil business. An oil block here and there won’t hurt anybody now would it?

On Instagram, Peter Okoye posted photos of their trip to an offshore facility presumably at Apapa, Lagos. He wrote ‘Hustle must continue…. Oil business tinz….. No time. When u start from the bottom..Who knows? God bless ma hustle. Wink.

The funeral arrangement of late Nollywood actor, Chief Justus Esiri who died on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 has been released by the family.

Spokesman for the family, George Esiri, says the late ‘Village Headmaster’ will be buried in his hometown of Abraka in Delta State on Friday, April 12.

But before then, there will be service of songs for the late Esiri on April 9, followed by a commendation mass at St. Jude Catholic Church, Mafoluku, Lagos, on April 10.

Immediately after the service,  the body will be flown to Warri in Delta State for the second and final phase of the burial ceremony.

According to Esiri, the body will then proceed to Abraka where there will be another commendation mass/lying-in-state at the Polo Turf in Abraka, Delta State on April 12 from where the remains of the thespian will be conveyed to his residence in Abraka for interment and entertainment of guests.

The late Justus Esiri who died of complications from diabetes is survived by wife, Omiete Esiri, daughters; Ophlia Edewor, Ejiro Efijemueh, Tobor Esiri, sons; Justus Esiri Jnr, Sidney Esiri (Dr Sid), Andrew Esiri, and grandchildren.

Industry Nite, Nigeria’s leading music talent showcase is headed to South Africa on Saturday, March 16 2013.

The weekly music and networking event will be taking the fun to South Africa for the first time, with a special edition planned to hold at club TABOO on Fredman Drive in Sandton.

There will be performances by Dammy Krane, Mr May D, Tunde Ednut and others.

Turntable mixes will be handled by legendary DJ Jimmy JATT, DJ Humility, in-house DJ Spinall, and select South African DJs.

AMERICA'S POP STAR "JUSTIN BIBER" SLUMED ON STAGE.

 The ‘Baby‘ hitmaker – who angered fans when he was two hours late for his show earlier this week – informed the crowd he wasn’t feeling well and got checked out by a doctor before returning 10 minutes later to finish his set.

Following the concert, Justin’s team immediately brought him to a local hospital for a full check-up.

His representative told E! News: ‘He got oxygen from emergency personnel. He insisted on finishing the show. He is on the way to the hospital right now.’

Video footage from the concert also shows Justin’s manager Scooter Braun telling his fans that the 19-year-old singer had been ‘very low of breath’ during the show and was being checked over by a medical team.

Justin was recently reprimanded by his record company and warned to curb his partying ways and ‘stay in more’.

A source said: ‘Being amidst a barrage of abuse is uncharted territory for Justin. Understandably he is finding it hard to take … His antics are not what his young fans expect of him.

After an emergency meeting in the US, Justin’s people reportedly had him on Skype to bosses and he was given a serious talking-to. ‘It was suggested he start staying in more and basically cleaning up his act … Justin took the news well and has promised to go back to putting his fans first.’

NIFERIA'S FEMALE POP SINGER "OMAWUNMI" SET TO RELEASE 2ND ALBUM COME APRIL.

Popular Nigerian singer "Omawumi Megbele" will be releasing her second album next month – three years after her debut album ‘Wonder Woman‘.

In an exclusive interview, the singer-performer revealed the name of the album as ‘Lasso of Truth‘.

‘My album will be out in a matter of weeks and it will be titled, Lasso of Truth and before you ask what it means. My last album was titled Wonder Woman and in the story about her, she has a lasso with which she whips and forces victims to tell the truth‘, she disclosed.

Wonder Woman is a fictional female ‘super hero’ character developed by DC Comics. Omawumi used the character to develop a theme for her critically-acclaimed debut album back in 2009.

‘That is what I am about as an artiste and it reflects in my songs too’, she explains.

The album will contain 12 tracks and that’s all the talented singer and mother of one is revealing for now.

She tells us however, that she’ll be hosting a concert at the Grand Ball room of Oriental hotel on April 7, to mark the album’s release

AYO ANIMASHAUN SET TO LAUNCH 24HRS ONLINE RADIO.

Executive producer of Nigeria’s most prestigious annual music Awards, The Headies, Ayo Animashaun, has announced the launch of a new property, a 24 hour online radio channel called ‘Street Hop.

According to Ayo Animashaun, ‘This is a 3-year idea that we’ve always had. It’s going to follow the steps of Hip On TV and Hip Hop World Magazine, but this time, it’ll be more daring…radio and online.’

Animashaun’s company Smooth Promotions delivers media content on multiple platforms: TV, online and print. Now he says they’re ready to play the game on radio with the completion of a fully-equipped studio located in Lagos.

 Street Hop, we’ve been told, will go live on April 1, 2013. And it’s no April fool’s joke.
‘We have redefined television and print content production, and want to extend the creativity into radio. Lovers of Nigerian music and entertainment should watch out’, he added.

Work is currently on-going at the Smooth Promotion Secretariat, where finishing touches are being put in place and internal test transmission is in progress.

Streethop will also be available as a mobile application for Blackberry, Android, iPhones and iPads

Following an exclusive report that popular singer-producer "Sheyman" has parted ways with "Trybe Records", label boss eLDee da Don has opened up on the alleged separation.

Responding to an E-mail query from our source, eLDee explains that ‘Sheyman’s deal was structured to allow him create music independently’.‘He is still a part of the Iman Entertainment family, and still functions as the pro engineer for team, we still make music together and we have and shall continue to promote his works’, the Da Trybe boss explains.

Iman Entertainment is the parent company of Trybe Records. And as to why his profile page was taken off the website, eLDee says ‘His removal from the website is only to properly highlight the core Trybe Records artists’.

GOSPEL FEMALE RAPPER "BOUQUI" SIGNED ON TO TOP U.S MUSIC LABEL.

Nigerian Gospel Female Rapper "Bukola Folayan" better known as B.O.U.Q.U.I has signed up with US based record label Xist Music USA.

A statement which was released by the label says Xist Music USA and B.O.U.Q.U.I’s label outfit ‘Bouqui’s Place Entertainment’ ‘have joined forces in making her the first African artiste and the first female act on the label’.

This move according to Xist Music will offer an intensive distribution of B.O.U.Q.U.I’s album and materials in the United States of America and the UK.

She will also head the sister label ‘Xist Africa’ which will launch in Nigeria ‘soonest’.

B.O.U.Q.U.I who has released two albums in her career – the self-titled B.O.U.Q.U.I and the follow up Redefinition also plans to release a double album in 2013 titled ‘Marks of a General’ and ‘Eve Of Independence’.
